Songbooks for my ocarina’s
well, I have no idea.
I’ve had 17 days off work, so am feeling quite refreshed. I’ve had a short break away with the other half and his son, I’ve booked another break for November, and I’ve received quite a few free books in the post….
It’s been a mainly high fortnight, with just the one meltdown in the middle, but it wouldn’t be me without that though, and it’s been really good to just stop doing everything I usually do and recharge my batteries.
Now to catch up with everything I have let slide, because now I have the strength to tackle it all again.
A few weeks ago I ordered a new table on chairs for the flat from the tinterwebs.
This was after 10pm at night.
The next day I was told my furniture was ready for delivery and given a web address to go to in order to arrange my delivery.
I chose today from the days given me as an option because I knew I would be at home.
Three days ago I received a text telling me my order would be here between ten and twelve.
This morning I got back from work and sat in front of the tv to wait.
By 9:42 my furniture was here and the delivery guys gone. To short, hot and early in the day for tea, they left with chilled cans of coke.
When they rang looking for our address, they were less than 150ft away. I have been so impressed with all of the service I have received to date.
Many thanks to The Great Furniture Trading Company and their delivery partners.
Now just to open my boxes, and make sure my delivery is unharmed.
You may find yourself forgetting to do something important, like sending off the warranty registration cards for your kitchen full of lovely brand new appliances.
Not such a big deal you think, until you realise you’ve forfeited your 2 year parts and labour guarantee, and then your washing machine goes on the fritz and all your user manual has to say about fixing the problem is
“Try turning it off and on again”
And thus, feeling like an extra in The IT Crowd, you do so and nothing changes.
Yes, this is the position I found myself in the other night when the dryer part of my washer/dryer wouldn’t work. Instead it chose to flash lights at me rapidly, like a naked old man who thinks that you enjoy nothing better than being repeatedly shown his shrivelled and aged ‘tackle’.
I dutifully switched it off and on again several times to no avail. Fortunately when I tried again at three in the morning it worked fine.
So fingers crossed it was just something simple like the fact the machine was too hot, and not a big fault I need to fix.
What do you do when you’re stuck in your house on your own for days on end? Watch an an awful lot of TV.
The last couple of days pick, has been Sanctuary Seasons One and Two. It’s a fabulous show, although it does take a while to get your head around the dodgy CGI effects that are aplenty in the first few episodes, but do at least get less and less as the seasons move along.
